Today 5/5/11 we made the trip from Park Sierra to Yosemite National Park which is just a few miles from the park. What a day it was. Started out cool for the girls but even they got warm at a 84 degrees in the floor at the visitor's center. We first visited the Giant Sequoia. The one with the hole in the base, the hole was cut in 1895, The one on the ground was found down by the Buffalo Soldiers in 1904, thought to have been blown naturally in 1865. Some of these trees are thought to be over 2700 years old (The Grizzly Giant) the one with the group on the rail. The water falls are also just as beautiful with the melting of the snow. The snow fall this year was the most in over 11 years. Enjoy as we have.
