I know that it is hot down in the lower 48; So this is for you to cool off with and enjoy. We went on one of the Fjores trips out of Whittier AK. Saw a few Glaciers and had a GREAT meal, Prime Rib, Baked Salmon, Salad, Rice Pilaf and desserts. Did I say it was all you can eat.

More Ice

More Ice

Yes they are cold.

Look how blue the ice is, it's compressed.

Feels good to me.

Just waking up from a nap. Real exciting trip and meal took it's toll.

Many water falls. Double click and look at the birds on the cliff.
The last days catch on June 25 2011, Only one is Bennit, none are mine.

Close but no meat.

June 26 2011 a better day Halibut fishing. In just 3 hours we got the 3 biggest and the 3rd from the smallest. All in all, 60 lbs of filets. Total Halibut for our fishing over a 120 lbs. 94 packages in the freezer.

A bad fishing is better than a good day working.

It's true, A bad fishing is better than a good day working. Here Bennit is landing a wild King Salmon. It weighed 22 lbs.  We are not telling about the TWO (2 ) that he lost.

Another one in the boat. This time it's mine, a Hatchery Salmon 18 to 20 lbs. The difference is the top back fin has been clip on the hatchery Salmon. They release around 200,000 a year from the hatchery. We were fishing the Kasilof (K-see-lof) River.

Me by my catch.

Bennit by his catch. The wild Salmon is more silver than the hatchery.

As always there are Eagles around watching over us.

A great Halibut fishing. From the langing left the 3rd and 6th are ours along with 2 on the ground. 26 lbs of filets.

Don't we look whipped. It was a rough day a sea.

These are the ones that we caught our of Homer just the day before the above ones. We've fished 4 out of the last 5 days. Two days Halibut and 2 days Salmon fishing.

Launching at the river with the Guide.

Another beauty. This one is a wild Salmon. I only had 2 hits for 2 fish.

Ain't this a great picture.

The native way of fishing. No wonder the fishing is getting worse. They are catching all the blanked blanked fish.

Eating with friends......Escapee's

When we left Whitehorse, Yukon we wet Larry & Marilyn Forbes and we keep running into them. Here in Homestead AK we are all having a Low Country Boil. For those who don't know, it has potatoes, boil corn, ounions, chicken shrimp and sausage all cooked together. We were also joined by Gary & Mary Olson from California. They had never heard of this combination. Look at their faces as they eat and be the judge, did they enjoy it or not. They had seconds.

Bennit with his plate full.

Sharon and Fran enjoying the same.

Wanda and Marilyn chowin down.

Down on the Kenai in the National Forest eating again. This is a really, really fast camera that I have to catch these three feeding. Other wise it would have been a blur. their eating Bar-B-Que Rib's.

Sharon with a grin about some comment she made. She is always trying to get even with us for picking on her.

Look at these two, have cleaned out the one of the Rib plater's.

No wonder Fran is so little, He didn't get any food.

Sharon eating again. This time Ice Cream from a store in Ninilchik. Notice her Bib. It's the same as a New Mexico State Flower (Plastic Bag). After she ate all of the Ice Cream we were riding the road and she was still wearing the Bib.

Too much to eat, I think I'' take a nap while we ride.

The Great American Symbol. I'm watching over all.

Today is Sunday June 5th and we are on our trip into Denali National Park. The weather is nice and sunny. The first animals that we see are these 3 Moose. A Bull, Cow and last year's Calf.

Ptarmigan, the bird that Chicken Alaska was named after.

Dahl Sheep on the road side we saw many on this trip.

Fran and Sharon, she is asking where her cookies are, she has lost them.

Enlarge this photo. and read the saying on the right.

More Dahl Sheep

This one is saying "you really wouldn't hit me, would you".

Everyone enjoyed the trip, I think they did, these 2 are sleeping.

Yes I'm there in a jacket and shorts. It snowed , rained and was windy. Wanda took hers off for the picture. HA! HA!

Wildlife at Denali Park. As you can see when we left Fairbanks it was dark and rain looking. When we arrived in Denali it was sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine. We also encountered a mommy Moose and her Twin's. Ain't they cute. Sort reminds you of your children, well maybe, some what. more later.
